BLOODMOBILE

CLASS DAY

"Our future goals will be ones that
we will be setting ourselves. We
will not have adults down our
backs when to study, eat or sleep.
We will only have ourselves to
answer to. We don't know what our
lives are going to be like — we can
only do the best we can. Whatever
road you decide to take, I wish you
the best of luck." — Chris Riccio

SOMETHING STRANGE HAPPENED

ON THE WAY TO HEAVEN

During the many rehearsals of hard work, we all over came
social barriers and became the family that performed
"Something Strange Happened On The Way to Heaven."
Through this play, we learned that there is a lot more to
people than what they are stereo typed as. We all should
be proud of our outstanding performance.

YEARBOOK

Finally it's done, finished! A whole year's
worth of hard work and dedication in one tang-
ible item. Thank you to everyone who made it
possible. You know who you are. Special
thanks to Kerri, you've done the bulk of the
hard work. Thanks for putting up with me and
doing what I asked, when I asked. Through it
all we became the closest of friends! Amy,
thanks for all you hours. Ads and money can
be tough, but you did it. I love ya! Thanks to
CM for everything, thanks for listening to me
complain and waiting for me to finish. You are
the greatest! Thanks to AR — you know what
for. Many thank you's to my new dad, Mr.
Moore. You have been the best advisor. All
your extra help and your open ear gave me a
special man to confide in and remember.

We put this book together in hopes that it will
serve as a reminder of our years in high
school. I hope we captured all the memorable
moments snared with friends and classmates.
Always remember . . . these were the best
years of our lives!!

GRADUATION!!

"Right now, is a time for celebration as we the graduating class of 1 992
have escalated to the peak of Methuen High School; elevation unknown
. . . Right now, we have only reached the height of one obstacle —
High School. In comparison with the peaks which await us, we can
consider this mountain just a hill. Right now, we are at the base of the
mountain of life. This summit is crammed with many lesser peaks but it
is also filled with many valleys which pop up unexpectedly at our feet.
Don't fall into these valleys for too long, always keep moving up. This
peak is only as high as you want it to be. If you accomplish the goals
which you have set for yourself, you will have conquered this
sometimes treacherous mountain and you will be standing on top of the
world. But that is another song." — Joseph Bretton

by what we live today' . . . 'The great pleasure in
life is doing what people say you cannot do,' my
suggestion to you my graduation classmates is to
take this challenge to heart and try to live as
pleasurable a life as possible and reach for your

PROPHECY

2002 ... ten years after graduation and after a ten year reunion that nobody showed up at except Dave
Carney, Mr. Whiting and Mr. Nick decide to travel around the world to find out exactly what everyone is doing.

The first place they go to, where else, the mall. They first see Steve DeSimone, the new co-owner of the 2
Cavaricci company. Steve is talking to Jen Semili, who was just visiting her eighth husband, the owner 0'
Payless shoes. On the way out, they run into Chris Riccio and Joe LaPerriere, assistant captains and stars o
the Boston Bruins, and their still faithful fans from the Mosh Pit, led by Pete English, Ed Johnson, and Briar'
Hamman who are being reprimanded by head mall cop Janel Hombaker. In the distance, Mr. Whiting and Mr
Nick see Jodi Latulippe still posing for "Meuthen's my mall!" advertisements.

Satisfied with who they saw, Mr. Whiting and Mr. Nick leave the mall to head for Logan Airport. On the way^
they stop at the Boston Garden where they run into renowned ticket scalper Ken Ebert and hot dog vendei
Dave Carney. A quick peek inside reveals an exhibition basketball game of the newly formed Women's
Basketball Association, starring Kara Rossi, Laura Nemiccola, Amy Deeran, and Brenna Matseas with their
cheerleaders Kerri Dizoglio, Charlene Blair, Kera Mansour, and Kristy Bannon. In attendance, is women's
world champion body builder Lisa Vencivenga.

Off to the McLeans Mental Institution, where Greg Bergeron is receiving intense therapy for manic depres-
sion. His roommate, Dave Williams, is still recovering from severe cleptomania, which originated with his days
of stealing school lunches at Methuen High. Right down the hall, Tricia Curran resides after skiing off a slope in
Colorado. Caring for these poor souls is the tender, loving nurse Dan Salois.

At Logan Airport, while waiting for their plane, Mr. Nick and Mr. Whiting are given a flower by Hari-krishna
Dave Carney. They see Steve Chetelat playing his harmonica for money. Right next to him is Kurt Johnson,
the notorious lunch-money begar, panning for money. Sitting on the chair next to them is the latest edition oV
Playgirl, with male super-strippers Eric Silvestro and Liam McCarthy on the cover.

On the plane, Mr. Nick and Mr. Whiting are served beverages by Anthony Barbagallo. When the pilot comes
on the loudspeaker, they immediately recognized that familiar voice . . . "We will be flying at approximately'
35,000 feet to our destination, California . . .," Pranav Zaveri. On the plane is world traveller and fashion de-
signer, Gail Oakhem. Hanging on to the wing is daredevil Dave Carney.

Once in California, they spot dolphin trainer Karen Petralia, lying on the beach hanging out with Courtney
Curran, Denise Joseph, and Jill Daly, all trying to figure out where the party is that night. They go to a hotel to
spend the night, where they turn on the TV to see the battle of the late night talk show hosts; Bob Cox, the hosl
of the former Arsenio Hall show and Jay Wall, the host of the Tonight Show with his Ed McMahon — like
sidekick, Chris Carney. On MTV, Nathalie Sirois comes on as the host of Club MTV to interview industrial heart
throb musician Jason Robito and drummer Dave Carney, and on America's Most Wanted, Deirdre Rys is
wanted for releasing all the animals from the San Diego zoo. On the "Home Shopping Club," host Caitlin
Brown is describing the many bargains.

The next morning, the two begin their quest again. As they pull out of the hotel parking lot in a chauffeuredi
limo driven by Dave Carney, the first thing they see is Erica Weston's daycare center with it's fitting name,
"The Charles Manson Center for Children." On the side of the road they see Marc Ferland, who has dedicated
his life to travelling the country and teaching the youth of America about alcohol.

A quick trip to the nearby Rocky Mountains reveals the legend of Kevin Francis. Unable to locate Kevin
himself, Mr. Nick and Mr. Whiting only hear of his great feats in lumberjacking, and his ten kids with wife April
McLean. Also, while in the area they attend a baseball game of the expansion team, the Colorado Rockies, to
see college dropout and eight-year professional bat boy Bob Fyrer. Down the road, they spot ski bum Ryan
Pearson on the slopes of Vail.

Next morning, they depart from California on the cruise ship "S.S. Ralph," named after it's captain Andy
Ralph, to explore South America. On board, the extremely punctual cruise director Chris White directs them to
their room, where Stephanie Bergeron is living out her life-long dream of being a maid in exotic places. That
night, when the entertainment begins, they see dancers Colleen McCarthy, Patty Blanchette, Tracey Mar- j
ceau, Heather Oliveri, Ian Collier, and Sean Landry putting on the Broadway musical "The Sound of Music,"

140

sung by lounge singer Steve MacDonald. Also, on board were expatriated refugees Chris and Nancy Kotyla
for being too mushy. Water skiing behind the boat is Dave Carney.

The first stop of the cruise ship is Cancun, Mexico, where a religious order led by Chris Rodgers is com-
mitting public sacrifices of virgins. Down the coast about a mile, Chris McEvoy is running the worlds largest
equila factory. Out on the waves are women's world champion surfers Erin Twomey and Julie Tomacchio.

Mr. Nick and Mr. Whiting get on a plane once again, this time to the continent of Asia. Landing in Laos, they
meet radical president Lynn Robitaille and village peasant Keith Burke. M.D. Billings is doing her duties of the
Peace Corps, caring for the sick and malnourished people of Laos, while husband Scott Napier is teaching the
natives how to apply the sleeper and the DDT. They also see Kelly and Steve Herdegen wandering around
wondering where they are, and Dave Carney in the background pumping water.

The next day, they hire camels led by Ali Basaga to take them to Africa. Upon arrival, they see Jen Jennings
heading an anti-white rally with musical guest M.C. Jimmy LaCroix. Kristen Ploetz is seen living like a queen
off the royalties from saving the rain forest around the Nile River. On the river fishing is Christine Borowy.
Fanning Kristen and feeding her grapes is Dave Carney.

Boarding the Hindenburg 2, Mr. Nick and Mr. Whiting head for Birmingham, England. They go to a pres-
igious art gallery where Niki Ford is opening her latest multi-million dollar art exhibit of model Dave Carney.
Finally separated, Christen Davis is peddling "Hard Rock Cafe" sweatshirts. They also run into chess grand-
master Scott Waldie, preparing for his match with Bobby Fisher. They hear a punk band playing with Kathy
Dube singing, Mike Dailey on drums, Tim D'Agostino on guitar, Brett Gregoire on synthesizer, and Reid
r aucette on bass. Band manager Ron Higgins is in the center of the mosh pit, banging heads with nazi Ray
Martelli.

That night they go to the symphony where they see world reknowned musicians Brian Gilbert, Dennis
Boucher, Jeff Binnette, Melanie Michaud, Melanie Raymond, and Kristen Naroian. In the back row, Courtney
Davis sat watching, unable to be recognized due to her recent sex change to escape the identity of her sister.
Conducting the symphony was star conductor Kim Andrew.

The next day they decide to travel to the famed London circus, where they run into trapeze artists Carolyn
Brouck and Andrea Mitchell, Mark Fluet as the bearded lady, Gina Defazio as the animal trainer, and David
Bourdelais as conductor of the band. Moonlighting as showgirls on elephants are Kelly Wain, Kim Gibney,
Kelly Williams, and Michelle Buco. The flying body shot out of the cannon is identified as Dave Carney.

On their way out of town, they spot Caren Cioffi, the world environmental genius who was simply mis-
understood, like Einstein. Caren is walking in front of the "How to Strut School," owned and operated by Scott
Decubellis and Eric Castro. Also, in a nearby stock car race, they spot Paul Murack zooming around the track.

In France, they see world famous horse jockey Steve LeClerc and Vogue model Wexlie Lebron dining at Au
Bon Pain. They run into Derek Burns, who is making deliveries of his wonderful croissants to five star res-
taurants. Hanging out with Derek is champion of the French boxing circuit, Billy "Ukla" Kennedy. Across the
street from the restaurant where they are dining, they see an advertisement for the new fitness craze, "The
Abdominizer," with Matt Eaton as it's poster boy. Parachuting off the Eiffel Tower in the distance is Dave
Carney.

Satisfied with their trip abroad, Mr. Whiting and Mr. Nick return to the United States, to Florida. At the Ken-
nedy Space Center, they see Joe Bretton mopping the floors after suffering severe brain rot. Sitting in the
space shuttle preparing for lift-off for a trip to Mars is Dan Stanca. At an area golf course, they run into pro-
fessional golfer and "Garcia y Vega" spokesman, Jim Hanley. His caddy and longtime friend Byong Han is
signing autographs for his achievements in taxidermy. They spot a nearby magazine stand, where they see
the latest edition of "Seventeen," with actors Josh Martin, Ben Pelletier, and Mike Bennett on the cover.

Returning to Boston, Mr. Nick and Mr. Whiting are discussing all the people they saw, surprised at how
successful their trip was. On their way home, they turn on the radio to hear disc jockey Julie Stewart on WISH
99.5 talking about national Softball champ, Donna Hurley, and America's favorite guy, Michael MacAvoy.
Finally, upon arrival back to ever-so-wonderful Methuen High, they enjoy a delicious school lunch served by
unch lady Mike Laliberte. After they leave, custodian Rob DeBrocke is seen cleaning the tables, still recover-
ng from the gigantic food fight our class never had but got framed for.

CLASS HISTORY

In September of 1 988, the time had come to walk through the doors of Methuen High
School. No longer were we medley Middle Schoolers but we were now in the Big League of|((
High School. However, we were no longer the Big Cheeses but back down to the bottom of the )i
barrel, we were freshmen. It wasn't as bad as we had imagined though. A little time to adjust n
was all that we needed. We eventually got used to the idea of no locker space and quickly went )i
with the flow of the open classroom concept. After figuring out that there was no swimming: )\
pool on the third floor we were pretty much all set.

Then it was time to elect our class officers. They were Chris Rodgers as President, Dennis
Boucher as Vice President, Kevin Francis as Secretary and Kelly Williams as Treasurer

Our sports teams had a spectacular outcome. The Girls Varsity Basketball Team won the
MVC Championship. Our own freshman girls basketball team had the best record in the con
ference. The Wrestling team once again turned in an outstanding winning record and the girls
and boys track teams also excelled with the boys winning the MVC. The girls gymnastics team
had a winning season, taking them to North Sectionals for the first time in over ten years

Freshman year was quite a year. Along with the joy we also had sorrow. We sadly said
goodbye to a good friend, Tanya Tokawitz, who will always be remembered in our hearts andf
minds.

Although a bit of struggle, our freshman year finally came to a close. After a well deserved
summer, we returned to school a little smarter and a little bigger. Our class officers were
already picked. Chris Rodgers was President, Kevin Francis Vice President, Matt Gebo as
Secretary, and David Williams as Treasurer.

Sophomore year was exciting. We were now one step ahead and even had someone below
us. The purchase of our class rings was something to look forward to.

Our sports teams took the good with the bad this year. They were plagued with setbacks and
injuries. This, however did not let our Ranger Pride fall. Our cheerleaders, including Kara
Rossi, Laura Nemiccola, Brenna Matseas, and Amy Deeran made it to the National Competi-
tion in Dallas, Texas. They turned in a fine performance. Field Hockey finished the season with
a fine record. Girls basketball captured the MVC Small School Title and made it to the States
Division Northeastern Finals. Girls track had a tremendous season with only one loss to un
defeated Tewksbury. They made it to the MVC Small School States. Boys and girls outdoor
track had a fine season with the girls winning the Class B State Championship. Baseball and
Softball both advanced into the quarter final rounds of the state tournament.

The band had also made a name for itself by winning every competition in regular season
and taking third place in the finals at Boston University.

We also had winners in academics. Fifteen of us were inducted into the National Honor
Society this sophomore year.

Before we knew it, spring came along and brought summer. Two years of our high school
lives had passed. We were now upperclassmen. We were now growing up and facing one of
the hardest years of high school.

142

Our class officers were picked again. Chris Rodgers remained President. Kevin Francis was
the Vice President. Matt Gebo as Secretary and Dave Williams again as Treasurer.

Our sports teams were making a comeback! The Girls Varsity Basketball Team, including
Kera Mansour, Kerri DiZoglio, Charlene Blair, Kristy Bannon, and Nicole Traficante won the
Division I North title and played at the Boston Garden. The football team showed improve-
ment. The wrestling team was on a high while the gymnastics team led by Carolyn Brouck,
Caren Cioffi and Cindy McAndrew broke their highest records. All Conference Awards and All
Stars were awarded to many for excellent achievement.

The band continued to excell, having an undefeated season once again and capturing nu-
merous awards.

After attending the Model U.N., we looked forward to our Semi-Formal and the beginning of
summer.

Senior year had finally arrived. It seemed like decades ago when we were freshman but this
year would fly by in a wink.

Class officers were Chris Rodgers for the fourth year as President, Eric Sylvestro was
chosen Vice President, Jodi Latulippe as Secretary and Dave Williams as Treasurer.

National Honor Society officers were chosen. President Robert Fryer, Vice President Sean
Donaghue, Kerri DiZoglio as Secretary, Nicole Traficante as Treasurer and Julie Stewart as
our Historian.

At the annual Thanksgiving Game, Gail Oakham was crowned our Homecoming Queen.
Kasia Januszewski, Jodi Latulippe, and Lisa Bencivenga were all runners up.

Superlatives were picked and the Blood Drives were a success.

Many Academic Awards were given S.O.A.R. awards were won by Deirdre Rys, Chris
Riccio, Robert Fyrer, Tricia Curran, Nicole Ford, Patty Blanchette, and Dennis Boucher.
Kristen Ploetz was sent to Washington, D.C. to the National Leaders Conference.

The class play "Something Strange Happened on the Way to Heaven" was a huge success.
The entire class was finally brought together after four years. Everyone worked well together
making it a wonderful event.

The Athletics were intense our senior year. The football, basketball, soccer, field hockey,
wrestling, baseball, hockey, and gymnastics teams were amazing. The Hockey team was the
first MVC Champs in the history of the school, with a fourteen game winning streak they com-
peted in the State Semi-Finals. Many teams went onto State Tournaments. Many individuals
won honors. Congratulations to all the athletes and captains who made this all possible.

Once again, the band showed outstanding ability. Going undefeated and they took a gold
medal in the final competition.

Methuen Rangers Spirit will always be remembered with this Senior Class. Thanks to the
great student fans including the unforgettable "Mosh Pit."

Before we knew it, the Prom was here, finals were beginning and Graduation was upcom-
ing.

We were done. It was great! Together we spent the best years of our lives. Good luck to the
Class of 1992. May the future bring you success and happiness.
